Glass Jr (wife: Rebecca Glass), Robert Garrett Glass (wife: Laurie Bursi Glass); daughter-in-law, Sandra Glass; sister's-in-law, Evelyn Hicks, Belinda Gillis; four nieces and nephews, Cindy Hicks Bolin (husband: Ken Bolin), Edward Hicks (wife: Rachel Hicks), Patrick Hicks, Jessica Lois Hicks Hysmith (husband: Nick Hysmith); ten grandchildren, Minda Bostic (husband: Jeff Bostic), Garrett Glass, Nathan Glass (wife: Megan Glass), Stuart Glass (wife: Alex Glass), Emily Glass, Stephen Glass (wife: Kim Glass), Amy Glass, Annamarie Scioscia (husband: Stephen Scioscia), Tessa Maddux (husband: Cody Maddux) and Jordan Glass; six great-grandchildren, eight great-nieces and great-nephews. Born and raised in Cleveland, giving her life to the Lord at age 12 she joined North Cleveland Church of God whereas a teenager she taught Sunday School, she graduated in 1951 from Bradley Central Highschool, where she was voted Best all-around student by 149 classmates. In the fall of that year Lois enrolled at Tennessee Tech. University (TTU) where she majored in Home Economics with a minor in Science. Lois was chosen to be president of the dorm (New South Hall). She served in leadership rolls at Faith Women's organization, TTU Choral Group and Aquatic Club Swim Team. Upon completion of course work at TTU in 1954 she accepted a position as assistant home demonstration agent in Carter Co. Elizabethton TN. She was an active member of TEA which she attended several years as a delegate. She also served on many committees at the local level and helped draft policies for these organizations. She was also Charter president for ADK it was an honorary Teacher's organization, she was a valuable member of this chapter for 25 years, retiring as a Silver Sister. It is here where she also met and married her Husband George Glass Sr. on Jun 12, 1955, they joined in matrimony by the Rev. GH Glass at Lynn Valley Baptist Church. After their marriage they returned to Cleveland TN, and the couple joined Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School in the primary Department and later, she was an assistant to the young married women's group. Lois also served her community through helping to establish the 1st Contact Telephone ministry in Cleveland. In 1966 George and Lois purchased their permanent family residence on Wagner Circle in Cleveland, where they attended and served at Westmore Church of God which was being built at that time. Lois was active as a member of Enetha Circle and a member of the Choir. She enjoyed sending cards to people and loved keeping in touch with the young peoples 180 group of the church, sending birthday cards with special scripture messages. She was the necrology chairwoman for Cleveland/Bradley Retired Teachers association and served on the telephone committee. In 1979 she returned to TTU on a scholarship from the National Science Foundation to complete her master's degree in Science. She made positive impact on many lives and will continue to be cherished by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 at 1:00p.m in Serenity Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kelvin Page officiating. Interment will follow Cedar Springs Cemetery, with grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Family will receive friends from 11:00a.m. -1:00p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. A white dove release and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the services.
