Description	:	Lois Irene (Loper) Dowse, 85, of Grand Island, saw the face of her Lord Jesus on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Service and celebration of Lois' life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Burial will be Friday afternoon at Oakwood Cemetery in Weeping Water. Read More	Lois Irene (Loper) Dowse, 85, of Grand Island, saw the face of her Lord Jesus on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Lois was born on February 13, 1932 at Omaha, NE, the daughter of Carl and Ora (Minium) Sell. She attended school in Plattsmouth and graduated with the class of 1950. Lois was married to Vaden Loper on February 15, 1959, the father of her children. Following his death, she fell in love with her longtime friend and partner in Christ, William Dowse. They were married on November 20, 1992. Lois was employed as a CNA at Lebensraum Retirement Home before continuing her education and becoming an LPN. Always having the caregiver spirit, Lois then spent a few years running a licensed daycare from her home. Following Vaden's death, she was employed sixteen years with Mid-Nebraska Individual Services. Lois' faith was the foundation of her life. She was a member of the New Life Wesleyan Church, and attended and volunteered at the Salvation Army Church. Her children love and cherish that their mother gave them the gift of the Lord's presence as a guiding light. Lois proudly dedicated her life to being a shining light for Jesus. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, William "Bill" Dowse; her children, Edward Leon Loper of Shakopee, MN, Margaret Diane (Christian) Skibstead of Ansley, NE and Elizabeth Anne (Herb) Slough of Doniphan, NE; Bill's children whom she considered her own, Jeffery David Markworth, Victoria Brown and JeRee Jean Baliman; brothers, Robert (Beverly) Sell of Omaha and James (Rose) Sell of Modale, IA; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren with one on the way; and best friend and "Sis-in-Christ", Marian Walters. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vaden Loper; two sons, Rodney Allen Loper and Robert Vaden Loper; a grandson, Devan Loper; four brothers, Carl, Melvin, Gene and Richard; and two sisters, Lova Bushnell and Margaret Bressman.
