Description	:	Lois Verzani, age 79 of Tripp, South Dakota passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 10th at the Friedens Reformed Church at Tripp. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 9th at the Friedens Reformed Church at Tripp with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the Friedens Reformed Church Cemetery. Lois Jean Verzani was born on March 19, 1941, to Paul and Ida (Star) Olivier, at home on the farm. The youngest of five children. The farm was located along Chateau Creek, and her two brothers delighted in telling her that she was born in the creek. The family later moved to a farm in Garden Valley, where she attended Garden Valley Country School. She was very angry on her first day of school because her older brother promised to take her to school that day, but the draft board changed that well laid plan. In third grade they moved to Corsica, where she attended Corsica Christian School through 8th grade. She graduated from Corsica High School in 1959. She moved to and worked in Sioux Falls, for several years. In 1961 she suffered a major blow in her young life, when her fiancé was killed one month before their wedding, but her faith in God and the love of family and friends, helped her through. On October 5th 1963, she married Arnold Furney. They lived in Scotland and became the parents of 5 children. They later divorced and Lois moved to Tripp, South Dakota near her daughter. While working in Yankton she met George Verzani at Square Dance Lessons. They were married on Valentine's Day 1997 at the Chapel of the Ozarks in Branson, Missouri. They lived in Tripp all their married life of 23 years. Lois worked several jobs mostly in retail. She started her two favorite jobs in 2005. Retirement! She also worked part-time as a floral designer at Ms. Bumble Bees in Parkston. Her love of flowers made this play, rather than work. Lois is survived by her husband and best friend, George; her children, Troy (Deb Hargens) Furney, Trent (Angela) Furney, Teresa (Richard Becvar, friend) Wilson, Tim (Kristy) Furney and Tomas (Jeri Thompson, friend) Furney; 14 grandchildren, Dakota (Kayla) Wilson, Kchandra (Justin) Easley, Tate Reiner, Autumn Hargens, Jaron and Zee Furney, Andrew & Brady Wilson, Grayden and Tymmarie Furney, Nika, Gatlin and Taya Furney, Kenyia Larson; 3 great-grandchildren, Brody, Curtis and Ryder Wilson; a sister, Elnora Koedam of Orange City, Iowa; one sister-in-law, lrene Olivier of Pierre, South Dakota and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, two brothers, two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law. - Goglin Funeral Home
