Description	:	Lois Katheryne Hansen Ries died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont, Nebraska. Lois, was born October 8, 1925 to Louie and Minnie Hansen in Creighton, Nebraska. Lois grew up in rural Creighton and graduated from Creighton High School. Lois married Donald (Pat) Pittack. They lived in Plainview and Norfolk prior to moving to Foster where they owned Pat's Bar. Read More	Lois Katheryne Hansen Ries died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont, Nebraska. Lois, was born October 8, 1925 to Louie and Minnie Hansen in Creighton, Nebraska. Lois grew up in rural Creighton and graduated from Creighton High School. Lois married Donald (Pat) Pittack. They lived in Plainview and Norfolk prior to moving to Foster where they owned Pat's Bar. They continued to live there and raise their family of six children. Lois later married Art Ries and moved to Norfolk where she lived for 34 years. She moved to Fremont in 2007 for health reasons to be closer to family. She had been a resident of Merrick Manor for three years. Lois worked at the Plainview Hospital in Plainview, NE for many years and at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk for over 32 years. After retiring from the hospital she worked at the Nebraska Workforce Service in Norfolk part time until she was 80. Lois was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk and the VFW Auxiliary in Norfolk. She had a love for life and enjoyed everyone she met. She loved music, entertaining people with playing the organ, accordion and harmonica. Survivors are: children, Marilyn (Dennis) Hoffman of Omaha, Gary (Helen) Pittack of Bell Buckle, Tennessee, Diane (Daryl) Janssen of Omaha, Janis (Steve) Peck of Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska, Mike (Cindy) Pittack of Fremont, and Shelly (Jim) Workman of Tekamah; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lois Hansen of Bullhead City, Arizona and Sylvia Hansen of Denver, Colorado and a host of relatives and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband Art Ries in 1995; four brothers, and four sisters.
