A triple fatality Wednesday morning in a fiery car-truck crash at a bridge south of Rockwell City, struck hard at the home of Mrs. Lorretta Sitzman in Le Mars. Mrs. Sitzman told the Daily Sentinel her sister, Mrs. Lois. Rabb, 56, her brother-in-law. Orville Rabb. 62 and his sister, Florence Cruz. 64, all of Lake City, died in the crash. Mrs. Rabb was the former Lois Hames, a Remsen native. She was born in Remsen, Iowa in 1919 to John Peter and Anna (Boever) Hames. The Rabbs had visited Mrs. Sitzman last Sunday in Le Mars. Mrs. Sitzman and members of her family from Omaha were to drive to Lake City Thursday. Authorities reported all the victims were in the car. The semi-trailer truck driver. John Beck, 26, of Greenville was not injured as he jumped to safety. Iowa patrol troopers said the accident took place on highway 4 about 4 miles south of Rockwell City when the truck was passing another car on a bridge. The truck's gasoline tank ruptured and burst into flames after the headon collision. The car went into the ditch. The truck followed landing on top of the car. The truck driver was charged with illegally passing on a highway, officers said. Other members of the Hames family who survive are two brothers; Luverne Hames of Lincoln. Neb., and LeRoy Hames of Longmont, Colo. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Lawrence who died on July 7, 1976. Attend last rites of Mr. and Mrs. Rabb Attending the funeral of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Rabb who were killed in a car accident last week were Mrs. Loretta Sitzmann and Jim Sitzmann, Le Mars; Mr. and Mrs. Reed Tasoya of Papillion, Laveme Hames of Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. Lawrence Hames of Remsen.
