Mrs. Dunn, the former Lois Loretta Grill was born July 1, 1926 in Green Island, Iowa, to Fred and Anna (Meyer) Grill. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1945. Mrs. Dunn, the former Lois Loretta Grill was born July 1, 1926 in Green Island, Iowa, to Fred and Anna (Meyer) Grill. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1945. On May 12, 1947, Lois was united in marriage to Donald Patrick Dunn at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clinton. The couple were lifelong farmers in Clinton County. Don preceded Lois in death, October 11, 2009. Lois was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Petersville, where she served on the Women's Sodality. She was active in the Clinton County Pork Producers and the Democratic Party. Lois was also active in all of her children's activities, often serving in a leadership role. She enjoyed bowling and card playing. Surviving are a son, Gary Dunn, of DeWitt; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and John Baca of Arlington, Washington; grandchildren, Christa and Lizzie; a great-grandchild, Brea; a twin sister, Lucille Snyder and her husband, Joe of Garden Plain, Illinois; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Don Snook of Clinton, Carol and Ronnie Dierks of Peoria, Arizona, and Betty and Richard Drury, Clinton; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary Grill of Lewisville, Texas; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Schoening of Thompson, Illinois and Judy Dunn of Camanche and brother-in-law, David Dunn of Mesa, Arizona; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Stephen and a sister, Marion Hoff. The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2011 with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Petersville. The Rev. Fr. Scott Lemaster will officiate and burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Memorials may be designated to Immaculate Conception Church or Genesis Hospice. Pallbearers will be Mike Dunn, Mike Drury, Marty Drury, Steve Fullick, Dennis Schoening and Bill Forret. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Snyder, Dick Hoff, Rick Snook, Roger Grill, Pat Dunn and Danny Dierks.
