Lois (Moeller) Vosgerau (1922 - 2007).............................Lois Mae Vosgerau was born January 2, 1922, the daughter of Nickolaus and Lena Wallverton Moeller. She died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at her home in Denison, Iowa at the age of 85......................................Lois was born in Omaha, Nebraska and received her education near her home, graduating from Denison High School with the class of 1940. She was baptized in Christ on October 29, 1944 and was later confirmed on November 5, 1944 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. She then worked as a nurses aid for Dr. Roeh and as a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward. ...................................On January 20, 1946, she was united in marriage to Harold Vosgerau at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison by Rev. C.W. Schmidt. The couple made their home in Denison and were blessed with the birth of two children. She worked by Harold's side in his dental office for many years, taking care of his bookkeeping. Lois was a very talented china painter, and enjoyed teaching others to paint, in addition to having her own shop where she sold her work. She also enjoyed doll making, working in her yard, playing bingo, and playing cards with her card club. .........................................She loved decorating for Christmas not only in her own home, but also at the McHenry House and WESCO. Each year, she took responsibility for decorating the front tree at WESCO. She enjoyed keeping in touch with her classmates, and met with them each month. Volunteering was very important to her, as she served as an Advocate for the Elderly at Eventide Lutheran Home, as an open class arts and crafts superintendent at the Crawford County Fairgrounds, and helped at WESCO for more than 25 years. .............................. She made many, many friends at WESCO, whom she loved and they loved her in turn. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, which was very important to her, especially her Ladies Aid group, of which she was a member for over 55 years. She spent many years as one of the over-all chairman of the Annual Ladies Aid Smorgasbord, of the Mother -Daughter Banquet, and the Ladies Aid Christmas Party. .............................She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold in 1981; and her son Douglas. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Vosgerau-Wickstrom and her husband, Bo of Conifer, Colorado; and two step-grandchildren, Kara and Kristen Wickstrom of Sheridan, Montana; other relatives and many special friends..................................
