Lois was born in Fraser, Iowa, on September 26, 1929, the daughter of Joseph and Jessie (Bailey) Phipps. She graduated from Pilot Mound High School. On February 9, 1949, Lois married Robert Dean Walters in Fort Dodge. After taking business courses in college, Lois worked in assembly at Bourns in Ames. She later worked in the food service department at Iowa State University and lastly for food service at Bryant School in Boone. Lois was born in Fraser, Iowa, on September 26, 1929, the daughter of Joseph and Jessie (Bailey) Phipps. She graduated from Pilot Mound High School. On February 9, 1949, Lois married Robert Dean Walters in Fort Dodge. After taking business courses in college, Lois worked in assembly at Bourns in Ames. In earlier years, Lois enjoyed ceramics, sewing, and traveling with her family. She also enjoyed cooking. Lois loved spending time with her family and especially the activities of her grandchildren. After moving to Lakewood to stay with her daughter, Lois enjoyed taking drawing classes. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Robert Stephen Walters, and three brothers, Leslie, Joie, and Vern Phipps. Lois is survived by three daughters, Charisse Cook and husband Larry of Boone, Denisse Furstenau and husband Mike of Lakewood, Colorado, and Cynthia Chalfont of Columbia, Missouri; a brother James Phipps and wife Twila of Pilot Mound; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
