She grew up in Harrisburg where she received her education, graduating from Harrisburg High School in 1944. Following high school, Lois attended the Presentation School of Nursing at St. Joseph Hospital in Mitchell. She moved to Sioux Falls in 1948 and worked as a registered nurse for McGreevy Clinic for several years. On May 9, 1953, she was united in marriage with Robert E. Hanley in Sioux Falls. Lois was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Church Guild, and the Ladies of the Moose. She enjoyed knitting and gardening, and loved to bake, especially at Christmas time. Her husband preceded her in death on March 22, 1999. Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Kelli Crabb and her husband, Roger, of St. Petersburg, FL; her son, Mike Hanley and his wife, Susan, of Hartford, SD; four grandchildren, Andrew Crabb, and Alexandra Crabb, both of St. Petersburg, FL, and Hunter Hanley and Jordan Hanley, both of Hartford, SD. She is also survived by her sister, Arlene Parsons and her husband, Curt, of Sioux Falls; and her sisters-in-law, Dona Brecht of Parker, SD, Pat Townsend and her husband, Jack, of Sioux Falls, and Mary Katherine Moore and her husband, Roy, of Walnut Creek, CA. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Marlowe and Archie, and her parents. The family of Lois Hanley thanks you for your support and presence today. An invitation is extended to join them at the church for refreshments and fellowship following the committal service. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am Thursday, January 29, 2004 at Christ The King Catholic Church, Sioux Falls, South Dakota Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Sioux Falls, South Dakota Visitation will begin at noon on Wednesday with a Wake Service beginning at 7:00pm at Miller Funeral Home, 507 South Main Ave. Miller Funeral Home 507 S.
