Read More	The SANDIFER FUNERAL HOME Lois Selvela Smith Rogers November 28, 1927 - May 19, 2021 Lois Selvela Smith Rogers entered her Heavenly home on May 19th, 2021, while lovingly held in the arms of her family. Born November 28, 1927 in Pickens County, SC to Grady and Lecy Ellenburg Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Doyle Rogers in December of 1980 and Maurice Edwards Carter in January of 2013, by brothers Bill, Lloyd, and Roy, and sisters Frances, Edna, Dorothy and Ruby. She was the oldest and last surviving of her siblings. She is survived by her children Susan Hopkins and husband Marty of Walhalla, Lynne Martin and husband Eddie of Tamassee, Scott Rogers and wife Teresa of Salem, and Sherry Moore of Walhalla; Step-children: Steve Carter and wife Christy of Columbia, SC and Philip Carter and wife Doris of Nashville, TN. Grandchildren: Adam Hopkins and wife Tonya, Sena Shirley and husband Brandon, Josh Rogers, Gavin Martin, Zeke Moore, Mali Hardy and husband Jared, Evan Martin, Adam Carter and fiancée Melissa. Great-Grandchildren: Caroline & Jameson Hopkins, Jenna Morris, Ashlyn Shirley, Luke Rogers, Cindel & Ezra Hardy and Liam Carter along with many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her Aunt Helen Smith Luce. Our Mama Graduated from Pickens High School. She went on to graduate from Columbia College and worked as a Business Secretary in her younger years before moving to Salem. When she married, she became a homemaker and a wonderful Mother. She enjoyed gardening with a green thumb that could make anything grow. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes. She was very active in the community being involved in the American Legion Post with our Dad and Keowee-Toxaway Clogging Team along with preparing tax returns for the community. A member of the Salem United Methodist Church she was a Sunday School Teacher and the Treasurer for many years. Our Mother was a natural caregiver for her family, friends and others in the community. She enjoyed the DAR Thrift Shop and riding through the DAR campus to reminisce when she attended there as a student when transportation was limited. Proverbs 31:28 "Her children arise up, and call her blessed; and her husband also, and he praiseth her." A private graveside service is planned.
