She had cancer. She was born Dec. 8, 1927, in Athol in Smith County, to Fred and Minnie Niemann. She graduated from Cook, Neb., Public High School and attended Peru, Neb., State Teachers College. She received a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She lived in Norfolk, Neb., before she moved to Topeka in 1967. She worked for Topeka Public Schools and Security Benefit Life in Topeka. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and active in community volunteer work. She married Richard H. Busche on Feb. 15, 1953, in Cook, Neb. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Greg Busche, Topeka; a daughter, Karen Eby, Topeka; two brothers, Raymond Zabel, Decatur, Ill., and Ralph Zabel, Lenox, Iowa; five sisters, Esther Bose, Lenox, Iowa, Wilma Zabel and Arlene Higgins, both in Lincoln, Neb., Verna Flora, Denver, and Leola Janssen, Syracuse, Neb.; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 2021 W. 29th, 66611.
