(Bud) Wright, died at her home Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003 at 9:10 p.m. after a brief illness. Mrs. Wright was born in Haywood Co. N.C. on March 10, 1913, a daughter of the late Ben and Maggie Swayngim Haney. She was a member of the Buffalo United Methodist Church. Mrs. Wright was formerly employed with United Merchants, Buffalo Plant, and was retired from Newberry Mills. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Paul Robinson, Claudette and Danny Brewington and Joyce and Buddy Newton, all of Buffalo; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Teresa Wright of Jonesville, Ronald and Vanessa Wright, Brent and Jean Wright, all of Union; a special friend, Karen Lawson, of Buffalo; a daughter-in-law, Hazel Wright of Buffalo; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wright was predeceased by a son, Jerry (Buddy Boy) Wright and two grandchildren, Jeff Wright and Teresa Newton. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the S. R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Phillip Chandler and the Rev. Bobby Crocker. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Dale Robinson, Keith Wright, Bryan Robinson, Brett Robinson, Joey Newton, Trey Newton and Cody Newton. The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 until 8 p.m. The family is at the home, 217 Gin Circle, Buffalo. Memorials may be made to Hospice of S. C., 128-C Medical Science Drive, Union, S.C. 29379. The S. R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
