Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Stevens Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Rolfe S. Johnstad officiating. Burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery. Lola Read was born May 2, 1913, in Tabor to George and Carrie (Williams) Read. She attended the Ames schools and was married to John W. Taylor until his death. On May 5, 1973, she was married in Ames to W.B. McDonough. Survivors include her husband, W.B. McDonough of Des Moines; a daughter, Kay Peterson of Ames; a grandson; two sisters, Hazel Munger of Mesa, Ariz. and Thelma Vittetoe of Ames; two stepsons, Dennis and Edward of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John; a brother and a sister. Friends may call 3-9 p.m. today at Stevens Memorial Chapel. A memorial fund has been established and gifts may be sent to the funeral home.
