Description	:	Lola Taggart, 92, of O'Neill, died Monday, April 18, 2016 at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill. Memorial visitation was held Friday, April 22, 2016 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill. Memorial graveside services were held Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the O'Neill Calvary Cemetery. Dr. Anthony and Gloria Akainda officiated. Honorary pallbearer was Lola's grandson Ryan Hickey. Memorials may be given to the family for future designation. Lola was born on April 10, 1924, in Plainview to Charles and Lula (Shoemaker) Wright. She attended country school before graduating from Chambers High School. On Dec.31, 1948, she married Jack Taggart in Red Lake Falls, MN. To this union one daughter Shirley was born. Lola and Jack moved about Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska throughout the early part of their marriage until moving to Chambers. They purchased her family farm and were there from 1960 to 1978 when they retired. After retiring, they traveled throughout the country in their motor home for two years before settling and buying Jack’s aunt’s family home in Creighton. They enjoyed entertaining friends and bowling between fishing trips until moving to O’Neill in 1999 to be closer to their daughter and her family. Lola loved watching her grandson Ryan play ball and talking Nebraska sports. After Jack’s death in 1999, she needed something to do and began working as a green thumb worker at St. Anthony’s Hospital. She later became employed by social services to coordinate the volunteers and to greet and direct people to different departments while the hospital was undergoing renovation. She helped families while waiting for surgery patients and enjoyed helping others in any way needed. She retired from working in 2010 at 86. She will be greatly missed as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by one daughter Shirley (Tom) Hickey of O’Neill; and one grandson Ryan Hickey of Denver, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack; her parents; two brothers Lyle Wright and Delbert Wright in infancy; one sister Lucille Elkins; and one sister-in-law Mary Wright.
