Description	:	Lola was born May 17, 1916, near Gilman, Iowa, daughter of Jelmer and Mae (Thompson) Gunderson. She was raised near Gilman and graduated from Gilman High School in 1933. On March 3, 1934, Lola was united in marriage to Lauder Hulin. They made their home and raised their family near the Montour, Gilman, and Dunbar area. Lola worked for Holland Plastics, Dunham Bush, and the canning factory in Gilman. In her free time, Lola enjoyed quilting. She was known as the "quilt lady," quilting 100 quilts per year for 20 years. She donated these quilts to the Lutheran World Relief.... Lola was a member of the Strand Lutheran Church and more recently the Stavanger Friends Church where she participated in the church Sewing Circle. She was also a member of the Dunbar Happy Hour Club. Lola is survived by her sons: Larry (Diana) Hulin of Jesup, Jimmy (Charlene) Hulin of Marshalltown, Norman (Christine) Hulin of Gilman, Skip Hulin of Marshalltown, Douglas (Becky) Hulin of Wheatridge, Colorado, Dennis (Diana) Hulin of Marshalltown, and Mark (Sheryl) Hulin of Marshalltown; her daughter Sharon (David) McCubbin; her 24 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Lola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Bonnie, her daughter Marlys, her grandsons Neal and Chad, and her great-grandson Orien. Services will be held at: 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 26, at the Stavanger Friends Church. Following services, burial will take place at the Dunbar Cemetery. Visitation times are: Monday, July 25, from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory where her family will be present to greet friends. Memorial contributions may be directed in her name to her family.
