Read More	KILLED BY PLAYMATE. ---------------------------------------- Five-Year-Old Child Shot by an Eight-Year-Old Boy. A small bore rifle in the hands of an 8-year-old boy resulted in the death of Lola Myers, aged 5 years, at the W. C. A. hospital at 4 o’clock yesterday morning. The little girl was the daughter of C. W. Myers, who resides several miles from Missouri Valley. Sunday afternoon an 8-year-old son of a friend of the family came out to the Myers place and brought with him his rifle, which was an arm of small design capable of sending a small bullet a short distance. The two children were playing together, and suddenly the little boy exclaimed, “I’m going to shoot you,” and suiting his action to his words he did so. The bullet penetrated the child’s abdomen, passing clear through the intestines. As soon as possible the girl was taken to Missouri Valley and from there brought to the W. C. A. hospital in this city. Dr. Donald Macrae, jr., performed the operation known as haparatomy, which was without avail and death ensued within a few hours.
