Description	:	Lola Mae (Carpenter) Londene, a resident of rural Chapman, went to heaven May 21, 2016 at the Salina Regional Health Center in Salina with her family by her side at the age of 84. Lola was born Sept. 26, 1931 in rural Abilene to Jack and Edna Stoffer Carpenter. She attended grade school south of Abilene, and she graduated from Dickinson County High School in Chapman in 1950. Read More	Lola Mae (Carpenter) Londene, a resident of rural Chapman, went to heaven May 21, 2016 at the Salina Regional Health Center in Salina with her family by her side at the age of 84. Lola was born Sept. 26, 1931 in rural Abilene to Jack and Edna Stoffer Carpenter. She attended grade school south of Abilene, and she graduated from Dickinson County High School in Chapman in 1950. On June 22, 1950, she married the love of her life, Duane Maynard Londene in Enterprise, and they shared 64 wonderful years. She worked for a short time at J.C. Penney in Salina as a sales clerk, and helped Duane with the Concordia Dairy Queen. They moved to rural Chapman, where she became a dedicated homemaker. You could find Lola either driving a wheat truck or cooking her family meals from the heart of her kitchen. As a loving mother, she supported her children in their school and sport activities, and she also gave them many countless and selfless hours of guidance through their 4-H projects. Lola filled her life up with the love of music, and she had been a member of the Abilene Sweet Adelines. She enjoyed cooking and baking delicious meals, where her special macaroni and cheese made the menu always, and her angel food cakes for each and every birthday. Lola was loved by so many, and she showed how much she treasured life by always greeting people with her contagious smile and warm hugs. Her ability to make one laugh or give them words of encouragement was one of Lola’s many gifts. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, cross stitching, and the joy of playing cards with friends and family, and we can’t forget her love for her KC Royals. She attended the Chapman United Methodist Church in Chapman, and she had worked for the Flower Box in Abilene. She was a member of the Dickinson County Historical Society, Enterprise Senior Citizen Center in Enterprise, and was a volunteer for the Elsie Brook Memorial Cancer Fund for Dickinson County. She enjoyed the Buckles and Bows Square Dancing Club in Junction City, and the Houston Ballroom in Manhattan. It would give Lola such joy each time knowing, as her family and friends know quite well, she was Everyone’s Grandma. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and importantly, a friend to many. She is survived by one son, Douglas Londene and his wife Birgitte of Abilene, and one daughter, Diane Londene of Topeka; seven grandchildren, Stacy Myers (Rick), Amy Wade (Kevin), Iven Willis (Laura), Angie Londene, Joshua Willis (Dora) Ryan Londene (Danielle), and Alicia Wilson; 11 great-grandchildren, Hannah and Austin Myers, Maddy and Elly Wade, Layne and Riley Willis, Brianica, Jovandre, and Demarcus Flanary, Zayden and Carzyn Londene; her extended family, Marie and James Carter of Wagonen, Okla., and their three daughters, many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Lola was preceded in death by her husband Duane; her parents, Jack and Edna Carpenter; one sister, Lois Bledsoe; and one daughter, Cindy Jo Londene Wilson. A celebration of Lola’s life and her funeral service will be held at the Chapman United Methodist Church in Chapman May 28 at 10 a.m. Rev. Kenneth Trickle, Jr. will officiate. Tim Clark (Chapman Naz), and Clarence Garten will offer words of encouragement. Burial will be at the Abilene Cemetery in Abilene. The family will receive friends at the Londeen Funeral Chapel May 27 from 6 to 7 p.m. The Londeen Funeral Chapel will be open for visitation Friday afternoon beginning at 1 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Elsie Brook Memorial Cancer Fund or the Dickinson County Hospice.
