Read More	Halifax Herald 3/22/2004 BLACK, Lola Shirley - 73, Little River, Cumberland Co., passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 20, 2004, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst, Cumberland Co., with her family by her side. Born in Mount Pleasant, Cumberland Co., she was a daughter of the late G. William and L. Ruth (Marshall) Cloney. She was a member of The Church of the Nazarene, Oxford, and was very active in the work of the church. She was a member of the Little River Baptist Social Circle. As a young woman, she taught school for several years, and had a great love for children. She was a foster parent for a number of years and acted as a babysitter to many of the children of the area. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to spend time playing her piano and had a great love for Gospel music. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Walter Bertram "Bert" Black; daughters, Marilyn Black, Amherst, Cumberland Co.; Judy Forrest (Brian), Truro, Colchester Co.; Joyce Lockhart (Jake), Truro, Colchester Co.; Elaine Simpson (Robert), Oxford, Cumberland Co.; Lorraine Black (Michael), Halifax; foster daughter, Wendy Bragg (Carl), Collingwood, Cumberland Co.; grandchildren, Jevon, Jamie, Angela, Brad, Tasha Lin, Heidi, Allison, Jennifer, and Kyle; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Merna McManaman (Roddy), Amherst, Cumberland Co.; Lily Graves, Oxford, Cumberland Co., and Sylvia Boyd (Paul), Sackville, N.B. She was predeceased by granddaughter, Serina Baird in infancy; great-granddaughter, Emily Adams in infancy. Visitation will be this afternoon and this evening, with the funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, both in Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, Rev. Bert Collins officiating. Interment will take place in Birch Grove Cemetery, Little River, Cumberland Co. Donations may be made to Birch Grove Cemetery Memorial Fund.
