Description	:	Our beloved mother Lora Alice Eaton passed away very peacefully January 19th at Belle Vista Care in Rapid City, S.D. Mother was born to Harry and Myrtie Griffin on a Monday in their farmhouse East of Rutland S.D., mother graduated from Rutland H.S. and a year later met and married our father Clayton Cole. Mother was born to Harry and Myrtie Griffin on a Monday in their farmhouse East of Rutland S.D., mother graduated from Rutland H.S. and a year later met and married our father Clayton Cole. This union bore five children and the family resided in Sioux Falls, S.D. After WW2 she eventually mother decided to go her own way seeking warmer weather and sunshine in San Diego, Ca. Mother there met and married our step father Clarence Eaton. It was during their time in San Diego that mother did enjoy continuing her canvas paintings and tending to her garden and flowers which were always abundantly growing. Several years passed and they took up motor home travel and visited nearly state before settling down in Mesa, AZ. Clarence passed away several years later resulting in mother aptly holding her own until finally needing a little help as time wore on. Mother was a strong person, very capable, could do almost anything and seldom asked for any help. She was a self-starter and hard worker. Her father Harry would kid her and tell her that he wished she were a son as she was such a hard worker helping him with all the farm chores whatever needed. Mother came to this life at the end of the Great Worldwide Flu Epidemic and survived The Great Depression, The Dust Bowl, The Great Locust Infestation, WW 2 and raising five children of whom she loved dearly and would help out in any way needed. Mother will be missed big-time. Mother was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Clayton Cole, second husband Clarence Eaton, a sister Lorraine and brother Glen Griffin both of Madison, S.D. Left to remember her are sister Lois of Seattle, WA; sons James (Susan) of Minneapolis, MN., Douglas of Eau Claire, Wi., Bernie (Randa) of Las Vegas, NV. and daughters Joyce(Roger) Weidenbach of Omaha, NE and Lorie (David) Lauer of Sturgis, S.D. The family is also blessed with 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, all living. The family plans a viewing Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Heritage Funeral Home Sioux Falls, S.D. Followed by a private gathering Friday morning then interment at Graceland Cemetery Madison, S.D.
