Description	:	Lora Maxwell was born in Morrowville, Kansas Oct 19, 1906 and passed to her reward at her home near Siam, Friday, Nov 2, 1928 at 11:20 am, aged 22 years and 14 days. She was the youngest daughter of Henry and Ella Maxwell and has spent nearly all of her life in this community. On Nov 21, 1923 she was united in marriage to Darwin Shields and to this union was born two sons, Charles Henry, aged 1 years, and Max Walter, two, who with the husband survive to mourn the loss of a most devoted wife and mother. She also leaves her father and mother, two sisters, Mrs Ermal Ingram and Mrs Aden Combs, one brother, James Maxwell an aged grandmother, Mrs Harriet Maxwell of New Market, and grandfather, Mr Anderson, her father and mother-in-law, Mr and Mrs Joe Shields and many uncles, aunts and cousins, and a host of friends who are grieved by her untimely death. For to know Lora was but to love her. Her kind disposition, so full of sunshine and love, was a passport to all hearts. She united with the Church of Christ in Siam, when she was 16 years of age, during a revival held by Rev Crewdson and has since lived a sincere Christian life. She was a member of the William Worker society of the Church and the Sunday School where she will be sadly missed, as she was so faithful always doing her best for the Savior and the Church she loved. She was a devoted wife and mother and the light of the home has gone out. Her loved ones may have the blessed assurance of meeting her in the Eternal home where death and sorrow are no more, and where she has only gone on before to await their coming. The voice of her Savior called and she has answered the summons to be with him thru all eternity. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 pm in the Church of Christ in Siam conducted by Rev Grubb of New Market. The music was furnished by a mixed quartet, Mrs Floyd McPherren, Mrs N.H. Reid, Messrs Charles Clayton and Arch Clayton with Mrs Clarence Henderson accompanist. Interment in the Memory cemetery. CLARINDA HERALD, Clarinda, Iowa, Nov 8, 1928
