Lavern was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family and especially her great-grandchildren. Lavern was a retired tobacco farmer and homemaker. Read More	Mrs. Lavern Davis Snow, age 93, of Dobson, NC went home to her Heavenly Father surrounded by her loving family on Thursday evening November 10, 2016. Lavern was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family and especially her great-grandchildren. Lavern was a retired tobacco farmer and homemaker. She was a member of Double Creek Church of Christ for 73 years. More than anything, she loved mowing the yard and singing. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Loyd Edward Snow. She was born in Surry Co. on June 19, 1923 to the late George Washington Davis and the late Annie Jackson Marion Davis. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister; five brothers; two half-sisters and two half-brothers. Surviving are her daughter, Joan Snow Belton of Dobson; two sons and daughters-in-law: Gary and Rita Snow of Dobson, Randy and Lisa Snow of Hamptonville; five grandchildren: Sherry and Perry Scott, Amy and Doug Clement, Justin Snow and Kristi Stoker, Tommy and Megan Belton, Tim Belton; ten great-grandchildren: Courtney and Blake Oakley, Kayla Scott and Hunter Danley, Saige Belton, Sawyer Belton, Gracie Belton, Joshua Belton, John Clement, Tyler Clement, Ellie Clement, Maggie Clement; and one sister, Dorothy Davis Mitchell of Dobson. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Double Creek Church of Christ, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Brother Roger Sickmiller and Brother Robert Parish will conduct the services. Her body will remain at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson until carried to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
