Sines, 96 of Keyser, WV, was born on November 17, 1924 in Sines, MD, a son of the late Clyde C. and Mary Elizabeth (Kimmel) Sines. He departed this life on May 18, 2021 at his home in Keyser. Read More	When a parent dies, we lose a part of who we are. We lose a person whose story provides the beginning our own. Loraine C. "L.C." Sines, 96 of Keyser, WV, was born on November 17, 1924 in Sines, MD, a son of the late Clyde C. and Mary Elizabeth (Kimmel) Sines. He departed this life on May 18, 2021 at his home in Keyser. He also was preceded in death by his only sibling, his sister, Janet (Sines) Pennington in 1967. L.C. graduated from Oakland High School in 1942 and then went on to work as a welder at Glen L. Martin Aircraft Manufacturer in Baltimore from 1943-44. He was then drafted into the U.S. Army Air Corps as a member of a crew flying in B-29's, flying several missions over Japan as a gunner and radar technician during World War, II. After serving his country in the military, he attended Potomac State College where he studied engineering and worked in the Potomac State maintenance shop. In 1950, he married Loretta Dewitt, who preceded him in death in 1994. In 1952, L.C. started his career as a respected home builder in the Keyser community. From his marriage with Loretta, he had two children who survive him; Keith L. Sines of Keyser and Diana (Sines) DellaMea and husband Vic of Rehoboth Beach, DE; his second wife, Grace Sines as well as three grandchildren, Kacey, Tory and Nicole. L.C. is also a great-grandfather to Emma Mae, Madyson Grace, Ava Lauren, Ryanne Nicole, Grayson Victor and Kensie Layne. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Pine Grove Church of the Brethren, 5792 Oakland Sang Run Road, Oakland, MD, on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Garry Clem officiating. Friends may also call at the church one hour prior to the service. Those attending are reminded that face masks and social distancing are recommended. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
