Born in Oakland, he was a son of Morris and Violet (Hiltz) Hyson, who both predeceased him. Loraine was a lifelong resident of Indian Point and he was an accomplished carpenter. Born in Oakland, he was a son of Morris and Violet (Hiltz) Hyson, who both predeceased him. Loraine was a lifelong resident of Indian Point and he was an accomplished carpenter. In his earlier years, he served with the Canadian Army during the Second World War. He enjoyed socializing with his family and friends, playing cards, hunting, fishing, and story telling. Loraine will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his wife of 52 year, the former Jeanette Shiers; son Robert and wife Mary Jane, Bedford; daughter, Margaret "Margie" and husband Rick Smith, Madison, Ind.; a stepson, Marc and wife Bridget Rosenberg, Brooklyn, New York; brothers, Ronald and wife Myrna; Keith and wife Doreen; Bobbie and wife Suzann, all of Indian Point; grandchildren, Terri-lee and husband Trevor Langille, Bedford; Kristi Hyson, Fairview; and Ryan Hyson, Bedford; Andrew Smith, Louisville, Ken.; and Jennifer Smith, Madison, Ind.; great-aunts, Jennie Hiltz, Waterville; Doris Hiltz, Blockhouse; and Rhoda Boehner, Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret. Loraine will be remembered at a celebration of life service in the Indian Point Union Church, Indian Point, Saturday, October 16, at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Heather Hemming. Interment will be in Park Cemetery, Indian Point, at a later date. Flowers from the immediate family only; expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Canadian Blood Services; the Fishermen's Memorial Hospital; Trinity United Church, Mahone Bay or to a charity of your choice.
