Description	:	Lorayne Edna Henke was born September 28, 1924 in Calvin, North Dakota to Charles and Lillian (Patton) Pierce, the 5th of 6 children, and passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Sunrise Country Manor at the age of 86. As a young girl her family moved to Nebraska where they became residents of Beaver Crossing. Lorayne attended and later graduated from Beaver Crossing Public School. Read More	Lorayne Edna Henke was born September 28, 1924 in Calvin, North Dakota to Charles and Lillian (Patton) Pierce, the 5th of 6 children, and passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Sunrise Country Manor at the age of 86. As a young girl her family moved to Nebraska where they became residents of Beaver Crossing. Lorayne attended and later graduated from Beaver Crossing Public School. She was employed briefly with Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph as an operator before her marriage to Lyle V. Henke on October 5, 1942 in Tucson, AZ. To this union three sons were born: Rodger, Kevin and Dwight. Together they lived west of Beaver Crossing where Lorayne was a loving wife and mother, raising her sons and helped on the farm where she was needed. In her later years, Lorayne and Lyle enjoyed their times spent wintering in Texas. She was a member of the Beaver Crossing United Methodist Church, the UMW of the church and was a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Lorayne was an excellent cook, loved crossword puzzles, solitaire, cross stitching and other needle work. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Rodger and Sharry Henke, Beaver Crossing, Kevin and Yvonne Henke, Lexington, KY, Dwight and Diane Henke, Beaver Crossing, 10 grandchildren, Shani and Bob Jones, Schawn and Eric Kellogg, all of Castle Rock, CO, Deanna and Erik Weeks, Lincoln, Jody and Troy Brauer, Crete, Shawna Henke, Lincoln, Erin and Chris Spata, Lexington, KY, Kyle Henke, Thief River Falls, MN, Crystal and Laura Henke, both of Lincoln, and April Henke, New Orleans, LA, two step grandchildren, Todd Vegas, Milford, Kellie Hill, Jerseyville, IL, 10 great-grandchildren, 8 step-great-grandchildren, and two step great-great-grandchildren, sisters and brother-in-law, Wyone "Tim" Ferguson, Crete, Darlene "Pete" and Clyde Richards, Lincoln, and brother, William "Bud" Pierce of Crete, many loving nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Lorayne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lyle in 2010, a great-grandson, Ryan Scott Adams-Chapman, infant brother, Vonnie Pierce, sister, Dollas "Dot" Carlson, sister-in-law, Eddie Pierce, brothers-in-law, Donald Ferguson and Harold Carlson. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2011, at Beaver Crossing United Methodist Church with Pastor Betsy Galloway-Carew and Shani Jones and Schawn Kellogg officiating.
