She was born October 13, 1916 in Gilboa, OH to Harry and Ida (Huffman) Tussing. She married Marlowe A. McDowell on February 12, 1939 and he died February 12, 1990. McDowell age 92 of McComb died Monday April 27, 2009 4:45 p.m. at the Sterling House in Findlay. She was born October 13, 1916 in Gilboa, OH to Harry and Ida (Huffman) Tussing. She married Marlowe A. McDowell on February 12, 1939 and he died February 12, 1990. Mrs. McDowell is survived by sons Leon (Connie) of McComb, Roger (Marilyn) of McComb, Darryl (Dee) Okeechobee, FL, Ronald (Judy) of Findlay; and daughters Sandy (Steve) Wilch of Findlay, and Judy Yarnell of Las Vegas NV. There are 14 grand children, 24 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Florence Bass of Findlay. She was preceded in death by a grandson and brothers Glenn and Maurice Tussing, and sisters Dorothy and Cleda Tussing, and Naomi Luce. Mrs. McDowell had worked at Libby in Deshler, then she was an LPN at the Holt Nursing Home in McComb, and then as a homemaker. She was a member of the Living Stones Church (formerly Pleasant Hill Bible Church) and was the historian of the church. She was also a member of the Missionary Society of the Church. Mrs. McDowell was a member of the McComb Senior Citizens Club. She loved to play card, cook, and do sewing and quilting. Visitation will be on Wednesday April 29, 2009 4-8 p.m. at the HARTLEY FUNERAL HOME in McComb. The funeral service will be on Thursday April 30, 2009 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Revs. Dick Powell nad Ross Hartley officiating. Burial will take place in McComb Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the church or Sterling House 725 Fox Run Road Findlay, OH 45840 or to the charity of the donor's choice
