Reynolds was born in LaPorte County, Indiana, April 12th, 1866, and died July 1st, 1892, at Fruitland, Iowa (near Muscatine) after a severe illness brought on by over exertion and anxiety in taking care of her sister, the late Mr. Ed Lower, and the babe she left, which brought on malarial fever, terminating in hepatic (abscess of the liver). Reynolds was born in LaPorte County, Indiana, April 12th, 1866, and died July 1st, 1892, at Fruitland, Iowa (near Muscatine) after a severe illness brought on by over exertion and anxiety in taking care of her sister, the late Mr. Ed Lower, and the babe she left, which brought on malarial fever, terminating in hepatic (abscess of the liver). In 1881, she removed with her parents to Allerton, Iowa, where she lived until 1891, when she went to Muscatine to live with her sister, surviving her less than four months. Her remains were brought to Allerton last Saturday and were met by relatives and a large concourse of friends and escorted to her home. On Sunday morning the 3rd, the remains were taken to the Christian church, where, at 10:30 Elder S. H. Hendrix preached an impressive sermon, after which they were interred in the Allerton cemetery beside her sister who had so recently preceded her. Rena was universally loved and respected by all who knew her for her kind admirable disposition, and her sympathetic nature made her peculiarly adopted as a nurse and friend in the sick room. ******* Miss Rena Reynolds died last Friday at Muscatine, Iowa after a serious illness from malarial fever. Her remains were brought to Allerton Saturday at 2 p.m. Funeral services were held Sunday, after which her remains were laid beside her sister, Mrs. E. Lower, who died last March.
