Description	:	Lorene M. Doremus age 80, was born on January 24, 1941 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Joseph and Emma (Kohel) Prokop and passed away at the Wilber Care Center on July 26, 2021. She grew up in Crete and attended and graduated from Crete Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Dwayne Doremus on February 7, 1959 in Lincoln, Nebraska and celebrated sixty years of marriage. Dwayne passed away on March 24, 2019. Doremus age 80, was born on January 24, 1941 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Joseph and Emma (Kohel) Prokop and passed away at the Wilber Care Center on July 26, 2021. She grew up in Crete and attended and graduated from Crete Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Dwayne Doremus on February 7, 1959 in Lincoln, Nebraska and celebrated sixty years of marriage. Dwayne passed away on March 24, 2019. In 1960 she was confirmed at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She and Dwayne worked at the Crete News and she also worked in the laundry department at the Crete Hospital for many years. She enjoyed her volunteer work at New Beginnings, cooking, baking, sewing and embroidery, collecting tea pots and tea cups, camping with friends, growing plants, photography, playing cards and music especially Neil Diamond and Elvis. When she was younger she enjoyed touring the Unites States with her parents and sister Dorothy. Lorene is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dwayne and her son James who passed away August 6, 2000, and her sister and brother in law, Dorothy and Kenneth Harris. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Harsh of Greensboro, NC and Teresa (Ervin) Badman of Tobias, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Celebration of Life will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crete, Nebraska. Interment of cremains will be at Centerville Cemetery.
