Description	:	Lorene Treptow was born February 9, 1920 on a farm south of Ithaca, NE to Frank and Ida (Schneider) Smith. She attended District #102 school and later graduated from Wahoo Public High School. Lorene was married to Ralph W. Treptow on September 1, 1939 in Ithaca. One son, Ronald, was born to this union. They resided on a farm near Ithaca where Lorene actively helped her husband with all the farm work. They later owned and operated the grocery store in Ithaca for several years. Lorene passed away April 1, 2012 at Milder Manor in Lincoln, NE at the age... Read More	Lorene Treptow was born February 9, 1920 on a farm south of Ithaca, NE to Frank and Ida (Schneider) Smith. She attended District #102 school and later graduated from Wahoo Public High School. Lorene was married to Ralph W. Treptow on September 1, 1939 in Ithaca. One son, Ronald, was born to this union. They resided on a farm near Ithaca where Lorene actively helped her husband with all the farm work. They later owned and operated the grocery store in Ithaca for several years. Lorene passed away April 1, 2012 at Milder Manor in Lincoln, NE at the age of 92 years. She was a hard worker and along with all the farm work, she also helped with detasseling during the years Ralph had the seed business. She and Ralph were very caring of their community and made many contributions. She enjoyed sewing and playing cards and she was making funnel cakes long before anyone had heard about them. She loved her grandchildren very much and they along with the rest of the family loved to eat the noodles Lorene would make. Lorene was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Ithaca and was active in the United Methodist Womens Group. Lorene is survived by her son and daughter in law, Ronald and Linda Treptow, Lincoln; grandson Robert Treptow and granddaughter Ronda Moore, both of Lincoln; step grandchildren, Michelle Truax, Colo. Springs, CO, Kristi Cochran, Lincoln, and Scott Vacha, Fremont, NE; three great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; one step great great granddaughter. Preceded in death by husband Ralph Treptow; parents; brothers Forrest and Howard Smith.
