Description	:	Lorenz Bertsch , 74, of Loveland died March 26, 2005 , at a local nursing home. Lorenz was born May 12, 1930, to Emanuel and Henrietta (Stoller) Bertsch in Freeman, S.D. He was baptized in the Johannestal Reformed Church in Freeman. He attended country school by Freeman. In his younger years he worked for his father on the farm and also trained horses. Lorenz... Read More	Lorenz Bertsch , 74, of Loveland died March 26, 2005 , at a local nursing home. Lorenz was born May 12, 1930, to Emanuel and Henrietta (Stoller) Bertsch in Freeman, S.D. He was baptized in the Johannestal Reformed Church in Freeman. He attended country school by Freeman. In his younger years he worked for his father on the farm and also trained horses. He was a mechanic for Haar Implement in Freeman. In 1947 Lorenz went to North Dakota to help his brother Ruben with the harvest. He was a bundle hauler and Madeline (DeWald) was a grain hauler. Lorenz and Madeline were united in marriage on June 3, 1951 . Lorenz and Madeline farmed in Forbes, N.D., until 1977, when they moved to Loveland . He was a farm hand, carpenter and pipeline layer until he was forced to retire as Parkinson's set in. He was a resident of North Shore Health Care Facility and Sierra Vista Health Care Center for five years. After he suffered 11 years from Parkinson's disease, the Lord took him home on March 26, 2005. He shared his life with Madeline, his wife, two daughters and two sons. He is survived by his wife, Madeline, and children Peggy (Ron) Rehkopf of Marion, Mich., Larry (Darlene) Bertsch of Coopersville, Mich., Tim (Mary) Bertsch of Loveland, and Terri Holthouser of Loveland; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The grandchildren are Dale and Doug Kamphuis of Grand Rapids, Mich., Dennis and Ruthanne Kamphuis of Marion, Paul Kamphuis and Faith (Dennis) Chenoweth, of Jackson, Mich., Rachel (Steven) Dykstra of Lynden, Wash., David Bertsch of Wyoming, Jonathan Bertsch of Coopersville, Jason (Tara) Bertsch of Grand Rapids, Patricia Bertsch of Coopersville, Brent, Troy and Nicole Bertsch of Loveland, and Christopher, Nicholas, Vanessa and Brittany Holthouser of Loveland. He is also survived by three sisters, Leontine McKay of Cherokee, Iowa, Ida Doyle of Yankton, S.D., and Olinda Bell of Hutchinson, Kan.; and three brothers, Gideon Bertsch of Menno, S.D., Ewald Bertsch of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Leroy Bertsch of Emery, S.D. Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Elmer, Martin, Ephraim and Ruben; and four sisters, Irene Clark, Leona McKay, Otillie Heckenliable and Erna Schoon. He was a member of the Loveland Protestant Reformed Church. He will be remembered for his love of his family and friends, music, art, and the stories he would tell about his youth. he loved to sing, play his harmonica, ride his horse, Micky, as a youth, and hunt.
