Description	:	Lorenz E. Greenwald, 100, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Friday, February 15, 2013, at Southlake Village in Lincoln, Nebraska. A memorial service will be held on March 2, at 1:00 PM at Peace Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Michael Klatt and Rev. Ernest Smith officiating. A private family interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery prior to the service. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Camp Luther or those of the donor's choice. Lorenz was born December 23, 1912, in Wayne County, Nebraska, to Ernest and Antonie (Raabe) Greenwald. He attended First Trinity Lutheran Parochial School in Wayne County and Wayne High School. On August 28, 1936, Lorenz was united in marriage to Palma Rathke in Beemer, Nebraska. Lorenz attended the Lincoln Aviation Institute where he received his Aircraft and Engine Mechanic certificates. He was employed at North American Aviation in Kansas City during World War II with the B0-25 Bomber program. In 1953, Lorenz and Palma moved to Columbus. Lorenz worked at Behlen Manufacturing for 22 years as a Machine Shop Inspector, retiring in 1978. He continued on as an International Trade Inspector on a part time basis. Lorenz was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League and Second Milers. He was also a member of the Word Sharing Partner of the Bible League. Lorenz shared God's word and message of salvation throughout his pathway of life. Lorenz is survived by: Son – David (Sherry) Greenwald of New Bern, NC Daughter – Bonnie (William) Price of Lincoln, NE Daughter – Jeanene (Ray) Gubser of Rogers, AR Daughter – Nancy Challed of Salt Lake City, UT 14 Grandchildren 27 Great-Grandchildren 4 Great-Great Grandchildren Lorenz was preceded in death by: Parents –Ernest and Antonie Greenwald Wife – Palma Greenwald Son – Larry Greenwald Son-in-law – David Challed Sisters – Bernice Damme, Ellen Zobel, and Lillian Essman Brothers – Harold and Robert Greenwald
