Description	:	Mr. Lorenzo G. More died at his home, just east of Bellefontaine, Ohio, on July 4, 1896. Lorenzo Gavitt More was born in Newark, Licking County, Ohio, March 18, 1818, and was therefore in the seventy-ninth year of his age. In 1839, he came to Bellefontaine, when a young man, to make it his home, and among the oldest residents of the city. In May, 1841, he was married to Miss MARIA E. LORD, a daughter of Dr. ABIEL H. More died at his home, just east of Bellefontaine, Ohio, on July 4, 1896. Lorenzo Gavitt More was born in Newark, Licking County, Ohio, March 18, 1818, and was therefore in the seventy-ninth year of his age. In 1839, he came to Bellefontaine, when a young man, to make it his home, and among the oldest residents of the city. In May, 1841, he was married to Miss MARIA E. LORD, a daughter of Dr. ABIEL H. LORD, and a grandaughter of Col. WILLIAM McCLOUD, who with two sons and three daughters survived him at that time. For many years, Mr. More was engaged in active business in the city, but of late years had been living upon a farm, just east of the city, and engaged in farming and gardening, an occupation for which he was especially fitted by taste and inclination. He was a careful student and a most interesting and intelligent gentleman, and gave himself up to the study of plants and cereals with an earnestness of purpose and with an intelligence which accomplished much. He was a most companionable man, and his house was the home of a warm and welcome good cheer. For many years it was also the home of the late Dr. Lord, one of the most accomplished and foremost men of his day and generation. Mr. More was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and although a long sufferer from the disease which carried him off, he had frequently expressed readiness and willingness to depart, and had girded himself for the journey. Thus another good man has been called away and another one of the older citizens has answered the summone that must sooner or later come to us all. Funer services at the home just north of the city, Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. M. Wills of the M. E. Church, Interment in the Bellefontaine Cemetery.
