Leaving a note for his sister and another for the wife who had left him with their four children Saturday, Lorine R. Blystone, 47, killed himself in a last gesture of despair. RECEIVES SUMMONS Troubles heaped upon him, beginning with the departure of his spouse, Pearl Blystone, and the children to stay with her relatives appear to have made him face eternity without fear, and the last straw came probably when Sheriff Lester Wood served a summons on him yesterday to appear in superior court in the divorce proceedings between him and his wife. He shot himself in the breast with a .22 special rifle about 7 o'clock that evening. The widow, sobbing today, repeated over and over that she did not think he would do such a thing. VETERAN OF TWO WARS Blystone was a veteran of two wars, having served three and one-half months in the army during the Spanish American war and four years in the navy during the World war. A brother, John Blystone, lives near the five-acre farm that was his home site, and a sister, Mrs. D.B. Mickey, to whom he addressed one note, lives in Battle Ground. Another brother, Grant Blystone, resides in Yakima, and a second sister, Mrs. H.L. Campbell, is in Vancouver. The four children, the oldest of whom is 18 and the youngest 10, are Robert, Dora, Beatrice, and Jeanne. He had been married 19 years. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the chapel of the Knapp Funeral parlors. Interment will be in the military cemetery of this city.
