She was born December 2, 1916, in Independence, daughter of Anthony G. and Kathryn A. Fischels Kayser. She married Sylvester Nie on August 22, 1951, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Independence. He died July 29, 2005. Services will be 10:30 Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Gilbertville with burial in St. Marys Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 3:00 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway where there will be a 4:00 p.m. Rosary by the Catholic Order of Foresters and a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service. Visitation also for an hour before services at the church on Friday. Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Church or Don Bosco Catholic High School.
