Description	:	The funeral for Loretta Pfutzenreuter, 89, of Oakes, ND, formerly of Hecla, SD, will be held on Wednesday September 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Hecla, SD, with Pastor Jay Haaland officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Hecla Cemetery. Loretta Colestock, daughter of Frank and Ann (Kenny) Colestock was born March 7, 1922 on her parent's farm east of Hecla, South Dakota. She attended country school near Hecla and Hecla High School. She was united in marriage to Gerald Pfutzenreuter on November 12, 1940 in a double wedding ceremony with Berniel Bonzer and Alice Shilhanek. Loretta and Gerald farmed the Pfutenreuter homestead for 41 years, retiring in 1984. After their retirement, the couple moved to Oakes, North Dakota. Gerald passed away on December 10, 1999. In January of 2009, Loretta became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Oakes. Loretta was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hecla, and after moving to Oakes she attended Grace Lutheran Church. Loretta was very creative and loved working with her hands. Her high suit was gardening, and she especially enjoyed working with her flowers. She was also an excellent seamstress. Loretta passed away on September 3, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Society, Oakes, North Dakota. She was 89 years old. She is survived by two daughters, Geraldyne (Clint) Clark, Hecla, SD and Rebecca (Wayne) Pulfrey, Doland, SD; one brother, Bernard (Claudia) Colestock, Hecla; and two sisters, Dorothy Gerken and Viola Shilhanek, both of Aberdeen, SD. Loretta is also survived by her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Larry and Timothy, and a sister, Irene.
