Description	:	Loretta Helen (Frueh) Petersen passed away December 27, 2020 at the age of 97. She was born December 25, 1923 to Lawrence Frueh and Clara (Schurman) Frueh in Afton, Iowa. She lived around Union, Warren and Polk counties her entire life. On October 14, 1944 she married Henry Carl Petersen in Des Moines, Iowa. They were married for 43 years and raised three children. Read More	Loretta Helen (Frueh) Petersen passed away December 27, 2020 at the age of 97. She was born December 25, 1923 to Lawrence Frueh and Clara (Schurman) Frueh in Afton, Iowa. She lived around Union, Warren and Polk counties her entire life. On October 14, 1944 she married Henry Carl Petersen in Des Moines, Iowa. They were married for 43 years and raised three children. During World War II she worked as a welder. After the war, Loretta worked in the Des Moines public schools. She then worked for Weeks and Leo as a supervisor for 30 years. In 1995, she retired and moved to Indianola to be near her children. Her family was most important to her. In retirement she worked part-time for Walmart, the Congregate Meal Center and Casey’s. In 2011, at the age of 87, she quit working entirely. She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter (Beverly Krier), her parents, six brothers and three sisters. A visitation with family present will be held Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 9:30-10:30am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola. A rosary will be recited at 10:30am, followed by a Mass of Catholic Burial at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made through Peterson Funeral Home to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church seminarians fund and for masses in Loretta’s name.
