Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Perry officiating. Burial will be at Blanche Cemetery in Chase County. O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Sue was born in Elsie on April 5, 1938, to James Albert “Bert” and Ruby (Kidd) Harris. Sue was the one of eight children. She grew up on a farm outside Elsie. She was married to Bryce O. Anderson in 1956 in Imperial. Of this union two children were born: Debra Kay and Ann Marie. Sue and Bryce moved to Kearney in 1960. She worked for the Kearney Daily Hub, a fabric shop and Baldwin Manufacturing until her retirement. Many will remember Sue for her volunteer work in the surgical waiting room at Good Samaritan Hospital. Sue was a preschool Sunday school teacher at Faith United Methodist Church for many years and remained a faithful member of the church. Sue was a member of the Kearney Quilters Guild. Sue will be most remembered for the many hand-stitched quilts she made. Her quilts won many first-place ribbons at the local and state fairs for her beautiful work. Survivors include her daughters, Debra Kay Anderson of San Diego and Ann Marie Anderson-Green of Silver Plume, Colo.; grandsons, Aaron Wicht and Austin Wicht, both of San Diego; granddaughter, Amy Green of Cotati, Calif.; brother, Larry Harris and wife Audrey of Ogallala; and sisters, Sharon Nutt and husband Tom of Holdrege and Freda Nutt and husband Wayne of Dix. She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband; sister, Helen; and brothers, Jim, Keith and Ervin.
