She is survived by one sister, Leona (Gerald) Klein; two brothers: Leo (Beth) and Leroy (Mildred) Ellis; sister-in-law, Jean Ellis; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents: Richard and Beulah (nee Shelton) Ellis; brothers: Richard, LaBerta, Leigh Alvin "Dick"; and sisters: Lorene Forbis and La Vaughn Sawyer. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Sheets Funeral Home, 604 E. Commercial Ave., Lowell, IN. Funeral services will be on Friday at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Chuck Hochmuth officiating. Burial will follow at Lowell Memorial Cemetery. Loretta was a past member of Shelby Church of Christ. She was known as a Master Sheller and Craftswoman -- no shell was safe in the ocean from her. This passion was 2nd only to her love of fishing and the Kankakee River where she lived out her life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shelby Library.
