She was baptized, confirmed, and married in Kulm church east of Parkston. She married Alvin Bueber on November 22, 1945. They farmed until 1986 on the farm that had been homesteaded by her grandparents and which is now being farmed by her son and grandson. In 1986, they moved to Tripp to live in the home that had been built by her parents; she lived there for 32 years. She and Alvin continued to help with the farm work for many years. Loretta delighted in caring for farm animals and wildlife on her yard in Tripp. She had been an active member of the women’s church group and served as a volunteer in the Good Samaritan Society of Tripp for many years. Her retirement was filled with reading, quilting, talking on the telephone, and trying to help out others to the best of her ability. Throughout her life, Loretta made friends easily and valued them highly. She often smiled and had a delightful laugh. In December 2018, Loretta moved to the Avera Bormann Manor in Parkston. She passed away there on June 27, 2019 at the age of 95 years. Loretta is survived by three children: Mildred (Larry) Furney of Lake Poinsett, South Dakota, Maurice Bueber of Tripp, and Marlys Bueber (Michael Phillips) of Shanghai, China; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alvin, and her great-grandson Landon. This obituary was written in loving memory by the family of Loretta Bueber.
