Description	:	LORETTA WILLETT was born July 27, 1922 in Montevideo, MN to Oral and Esther (Barber) Willett. At the age of 2 months, she moved with her parents to a farm north of Hettinger. In 1929, they moved to Lemmon where Loretta attended North Lemmon School. On June 28, 1940, she was united in marriage to Clair Charles Smith at Belle Fourche, SD. They continued to live in Lemmon where Loretta provided day-care for small children, baked and decorated wedding cakes, and sewed. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, CLCW, and the Rebekka Lodge for 50 plus years. Loretta passed away on Friday afternoon, September 8, at her home in Lemmon. Surviving family members include her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Marie Smith, Chesapeake, VA; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; 2 brothers and 1 sister-in-law, Ray and Mabel Willette, West St. Paul, MN; Orville and Joyce Willett, Clancy, MT; and numerous special friends and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on March 4, 1980; an infant son Virgil; 1 son James in 1994; 2 sisters, Delores Stewart and Francis Nation; 1 brother, Virgil Willett. Funeral services for Loretta Smith, age 84 of Lemmon, will be Wednesday, September 13, at the Prince Of Peace Chapel of the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon. Pastor Ken Miller will officiate and the cremains will be buried in Greenhill Cemetery.
