Heiden was born October 19, 1918 to Carl and Alma (Maehl) Heiden at Hartford, SD. She grew up in the area where she received her education, graduating from Humboldt High School in 1937. Read More	Lorna Ellens, 97, of Brandon, SD, (formerly of Hartford, SD) died Tuesday, October 18th at The Bethany Home in Brandon, SD. Lorna H. Heiden was born October 19, 1918 to Carl and Alma (Maehl) Heiden at Hartford, SD. She grew up in the area where she received her education, graduating from Humboldt High School in 1937. On April 8, 1942, she was united in marriage with Leonard Ellens at the Zion Lutheran Church, West Wall Lake near Hartford, SD. Lorna and Leonard spent their life on the farm in the Hartford area. Her husband died on October 30, 1992. Lorna continued to live in the Hartford area until 2011. She was most recently a resident of the Bethany Home in Brandon, SD. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church near Hartford, and the Hartford American Legion Auxiliary. She was a homemaker, member of the Cinderella "sisters" extension club, planted "large" vegetable gardens, loved working in her flower beds (especially loved tulips), feeding and watching birds. She created many many quilts for family and friends. Grateful for having share her life are her children, Lynwood (Janice) Ellens of Hartford, SD, Lynda (Terry) Boxdorfer of Sioux Falls, SD, LaVonne (Louie) Archuletta of Broomfield, CO, Marlene (Joe) Elko of Humboldt, SD, Marileen (Greg) Yoe of Hamburg, PA, Marge Boley of Arlington, AZ, Maureen (Pat) Gunderson of Lakeway, TX, Norma (Steve) Bannwarth of Humboldt, SD, Audrey Hewitt of Commerce City, CO, Leonard (Shirley) Ellens of Hartford, SD, Jolene (Jim) Thomas of Sioux Falls, SD and Jerry Ellens, of Philip, SD; 25 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Elmer, Chester and Willard; her sisters, Lucille and Evelyn and two grandsons, Keith Boxdorfer and Derek Gunderson. Funeral services will begin 10:00 am Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, West Wall Lake, rural Hartford, SD. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Friday at Miller Funeral Home Westside Chapel. - Miller Funeral Home
