Read More	Jeanie Boyce July 5, 1936 - March 26, 2020 Obituary for Jeanie Boyce Jeanie Boyce, age 83 of Corydon passed away on March 26, 2020 at the Wayne County Hospital. Lorna Jean “Jeanie” Boyce was born on July 5, 1936 to Ira and Florence (Smith) Van Dyne near Powersville, Missouri. She attended schools in Missouri and Iowa and graduated from Corydon High School in 1953. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 14 and was baptized at age 15 at the Seymour Baptist Church. Jeanie met the love of her life, and after six months of dating, she was united in marriage to Thomas Eugene “Tommy” Boyce on September 2, 1955 in Seymour, Iowa. The couple had two sons they loved dearly; Jeff and Greg. She worked many years as an Income Worker for the Department of Human Services in Corydon touching many lives in her career. Jeanie was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Jeanie’s grandchildren meant so much to her; they were her passion. “Grandma Pickup” devoted her retirement years to investing in her grandchildren. She was known to spoil them, showering them with sugar, Beanie Babies, and love. They knew she would give them the world if she could. Each were special in her eyes, doing no wrong. She was known to make Christmas candy, pounds of bacon, and chocolate milkshakes. She will always be known for her selfless, sacrificial love. She had a servant’s heart that she shared with so many. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her many flowers. Tommy and Jeanie loved going up town to get ice cream cones, attending church together, and going on shopping trips in the pickup to Centerville and Chariton. They were known to take off for drives without a destination in mind, sometimes ending up at one of the kids’ or grandkids’ houses just to say “hello”. Their love was a tremendous example to her children and grandchildren, setting an example of a Christ-filled marriage and home. It wasn’t a surprise to make an evening visit and see them together in the living room reading their Bible. Jeanie was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Corydon. She helped in many different capacities of the church and loved to welcome and visit with everyone, but she had a special love for children. As Jeanie has arrived at her eternal home with Jesus and joined Tommy in Heaven, many are left to cherish her memory: son Jeff Boyce (Brenda), son Greg Boyce (Kristi), grandchildren; Brooke Richman (Jared), Sara Myers (Ben), Jason Boyce (Sarah), Sean Boyce (Brandi), Taylor Boyce, and Collin Boyce, great grandchildren; Cambell, Hudson, Wells, Ellyana, Avner, Ebbyn, Samara, Wren, Kai, and Reznor, brother Harold VanDyne, special friend Doris Allen, numerous extended family members and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tommy Boyce, and brothers Verlon and Ronnie VanDyne. There will be an open visitation (family will not be present) on Monday, March 30, 2020 from 10-5 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Corydon Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life for Jeanie at a later date. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Corydon. Condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com and at facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
