Read More	Publication: The Anamosa Journal Eureka Date: February 27, 2003 Page 7 City: Anamosa State: Iowa Country: United States of America Lorna Jean Watters 1937-2003 Lorna Jean Watters, 65, of Wyoming, died on Thursday, February 20,2003 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following a long illness. Lorna was born on July 20, 1937 at Iowa City, the daughter of George and Ruth Carpenter McCalmant. She attended the Wyoming schools and graduated in the class of 1955. Lorna married Lyle Watters on April 24, 1955 at the First Presbyterian Church at Wyoming. During her working career, Lorna worked as an inspector at Rockwell-Collins in Cedar Rapids for over 30 years. Lorna was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wyoming and a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, Lilac Camp #1897. Lorna enjoyed her family and was an avid fan of the University of Iowa Women's Basketball. Lorna is survived by her family, which includes her husband, Lyle; three children, Rick Watters and wife Chris, of Wyoming, Cindy Brownell and husband, Mike, of Onslow and Pam Cooper, of Onslow; nine grandchildren, Shawn, Jessi, Gabe, Tim, Jenni, Michelle, Keith, Amanda and Ciera; one great-grandchild, Shawna; her father, George McCalmant, of Wyoming and several sisters-in-law that include Patricia McCalmant, of Wyoming. Lorna was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth; one son, Will and her brother, Dick McCalmant. Funeral Services for Lorna Watters were conducted at 10:30 Monday morning, February 24, at the First Presbyterian Church at Wyoming with the Rev. James Langiey officiating. Burial was in the Wyoming Cemetery. Casket bearers were Tim Watters, Gabe Watters, Shawn Christiansen, Guy Stafford, Gene Frasher and Mike Brownell. Honorary casket bearers were Albert Boots and Donald Ellison. The Hayden Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
