Description	:	Lorraine Hilz, 89, Beulah, passed away peacefully, among family members, June 14, 2004, at a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Saturday, June 19, at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, with the Rev. Rebecca Aardahl officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. MDT Friday at Seibel Funeral Home Chapel, Beulah, and will continue for one hour prior to the services at the church. Lorraine was born the daughter of Phillip and Hertha (Bauer) Benz, Oct. 23, 1914. She then lived on the family farm with her parents in the Expansion area until she was the age of seven. The family then moved and made their home 6 1/2 miles north of Hazen where she was raised and educated. On Nov. 28, 1942, she married Emanuel Hilz at Wibaux, Mont., and together they resided in Beulah their entire married lives. Lorraine, was a waitress in many restaurants in Beulah, and also was a cook at the Beulah school system for many years. She will be remembered for her beautiful wedding and birthday cakes, which pleased many. Lorraine was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and had been active in the German Ladies Aid until it came to a close. She then belonged to WELCA mission circles. She was also a member of the Beulah Senior Citizens, Mercer County Historical Society and Beulah Eagles in which she served as chaplin, vice president and inside/outside guard. She is survived by a daughter and two sons-in-law, Bernita and Clifford Beeks, Chillicothe, Ohio, and Jerome Koppi, Beulah; three grandchildren, Scott Koppi, Beulah, Alan and Christina Beeks, Smyrna, Ga., and Andrea Beeks, Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Ardella Kruckenberg, Hazen; two brothers, Vernon Benz, Mullan, Idaho, and Ivan Benz, Portland; two sisters-in-law, Christine Hilz and Agnes Benz, both of Hazen; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Selma Koppi, Beulah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emanuel on Jan. 21, 1992; her daughter, Dee Koppi on Nov. 19, 2001; six brothers, Roy, Bill, Harold, Ervin, Marvin and Virgil Benz; and two sisters, Lenora Reichenberg and Viola Miller. The family requests memorials to Zion Lutheran Church of Beulah, Mercer County Relay for Life and the Ronald McDonald House in Bismarck.
