Description	:	Lorraine Harriett Norby, 92, formerly of Howard, SD died on Feb. 13, 2008, at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Wash. A prayer service will be held Tuesday at the Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Madison, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Lorraine Olson was born on Dec. 18, 1915, near Wentworth to Henry O. and Lottie (Lovstuen) Olson. She graduated from Madison High School in 1934 and attended Lutheran Normal School (now Augustana College). She worked as a bookkeeper in Madison before moving to Orland, Calif. She married Howard Norby on June 30, 1938, in Orland and lived there a short time before moving back to Madison. In 1944, they moved to Howard, where he managed the Dakota Grain Co. and later worked at the Miner County Bank. He died Nov. 24, 1978. She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church for 63 years, taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, served on committees and was in the altar guild. She was a member of the Progressive Club and Howard Golf Club for many years. She moved from her home into a Good Samaritan apartment in September 2003. In February 2007, she moved into Whispering Winds, and in November 2007, she moved to Guardian Angel at Liberty Lake, Wash. Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen (Arne) Weinman of Spokane, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Norby of Lakewood, Colo.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two stepgrandsons; three sister-in-laws; a brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Howard; son Robert; two sisters, Benora Hexom and Ethelyn Frank; and two brothers, Merlin Olson and Harold Olson. Madison Daily Leader 02/15/2008
