Description	:	Funeral service for Lorraine Stugelmayer, 84, of Ashley will be 10:30 am, Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashley. Pastor Joel Sherer will officiate. Lorraine died February 15, 2019 at Wishek Community Hospital, Wishek, ND. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. There will be a time of sharing at 7:00 pm Wednesday with visitation from 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home. Lorraine Hoffman, daughter of Gottlieb and Christina (Wolf) Hoffman was born May 16, 1934 on the family homestead south of Fredonia, ND. This is where she grew up and attended country school. She worked at the grocery store in Ashley. Lorraine was united in marriage to Reinhold Stugelmayer on October 12, 1951 in the Zion Lutheran parsonage in Ashley. Reinhold was in the army for two years. While he was deployed, she continued to work at the grocery store. Upon Reinhold’s return, they purchased a farm southeast of Ashley in South Dakota. They lived and farmed there, raising small grains and livestock until retiring in the late 1990’s. They moved into Ashley in 1987. Lorraine loved polka dancing in her younger years and later years playing cards. She enjoyed visiting with people anytime or place and socializing at the coffee shop was a part of her day that she looked forward too. She was so happy that she could help out Kelly Jo and Lisa by babysitting her great-grandchildren. They brought such joy to her life. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sunshine Club and a former member of Adolph Schumaker American Legion Post #276 Auxiliary of Long Lake. Grateful for having shared Lorraine’s life are her husband, Reinhold; sons, Keith (Connie) Stugelmayer and Ken Stugelmayer, both of Long Lake, SD; two granddaughters, Kelly Jo (Jason) Dockter and Lisa (Clarence) Gilstad, both of Ashley; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin Hoffman, of Ashley and three sisters, Violet Bendewald of Ashley, Lucy Fischer of Long Lake, SD and DeLoris (Orion) Rudolph of Ashley. Preceding Lorraine in death were her parents, two infant brothers, two brothers-in-law, Leo Bendewald and Charles Fischer and sister-in-law, Frances Hoffman. Casketbearers will be Riley Molter, Faith Dockter, Caitlin Molter, Danielle Gilstad, John Fischer and Curtis Bendewald. Carlsen Funeral Home of Ashley has been entrusted with arrangements.
