Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Grace Reformed Church, Corsica, SD with burial at Graceland Cemetery in Corsica. Lorraine Schryvers, daughter of Sander and Susanna (Munneke) Plooster, was born August 10, 1926 on the family farm in rural Platte, SD. She grew up in the Geddes area and attended Schancke School. Lorraine was united in marriage with Raymond Schryvers on November 16, 1946. Shortly after they started Ray’s Sporting Goods Paint and Wallpaper in Corsica, which they owned for several years. Lorraine worked at the Corsica Good Samaritan Nursing Home for 11 years. She loved the residents she cared for. She enjoyed baking apple pies, rusks and pigs in the blanket which she shared with many. Her grandchildren loved her pies and slyenodipals. Lorraine was a member of Grace Reformed Church and the American Legion for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Schryvers; a granddaughter, Tera DeLange Pickart; her parents; two brothers, Orville and Lyle Plooster; and a sister, Eileen Strehlow.
