Description	:	SIOUX CITY -- Lorraine "Lorrie" Oostenink, 84, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at her residence. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Sunnybrook Community Church, with the Rev. Jeff Moes officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Hull, Iowa. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time today at the church. Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home is in charge or arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to christysmith.com. Lorraine Oostenink was born on Sept. 26, 1925, in Hull, to Gerrit and Hattie (Rikkers) Oostenink. She attended and graduated from Hull High School with the class of 1943. She continued her education doing her undergraduate studies at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich., and she received her master's at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Lorrie taught school for 37 years in Michigan, California and Iowa. She retired in 1990 from Lincoln School in Sioux City. She was a member of Sunnybrook Community Church and was a choir member for many years and involved in adult Sunday School. She was a member of the Sioux City and Iowa retired school personnel, Fidelis Chapter of Alpha Kappa Sorority and St. Luke's Auxiliary. She did volunteer work at the old St. Joseph's Hospital, Marian Health Center, St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, the Soup Kitchen and the American Cancer Society Reach for Recovery Program. Lorrie is survived by her sisters, Bonnie Geels of Sioux Center, Iowa, and Garneth Oostenink of Sioux City; brother, Dr. William Oostenink of Hamilton, N.Y.; six nephews; three nieces; and several grandnephews and grandnieces. Her parents; and sister, Mrs. Verna Bouma preceded her in death.
