Lorraine was born January 11, 1919 on the family farm north of Holdrege in Phelps County, Nebraska, the youngest of three daughters born to Herman C. A. and Anna Marie V. (Enholm) Harder. Lorraine was confirmed at the Holcomb Evangelical Free Church north of Holdrege and then baptized as a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in 1941. Lorraine was born January 11, 1919 on the family farm north of Holdrege in Phelps County, Nebraska, the youngest of three daughters born to Herman C. A. and Anna Marie V. (Enholm) Harder. Lorraine was confirmed at the Holcomb Evangelical Free Church north of Holdrege and then baptized as a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in 1941. She received her primary education from a rural school north of Holdrege in Phelps County and then graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1936. Following her education, she worked for her father at the East Side Coffee Shop in Holdrege and also worked as a waitress for the Edeal Family. On June 23, 1940 she was united in marriage to Clinton Carl Carlson and to this union three children were born: Ronald, Bruce and Susan. They continued to make their home in Holdrege, where Lorraine devoted her life to her family as a homemaker and caregiver. Lorraine was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, where she was involved in many capacities. Lorraine and Clinton especially enjoyed the friendship bonds formed in the church couples group. On January 23, 2003 she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton. Lorraine was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Clinton Carl Carlson; son, Ronald Clinton Carlson in 1982; sisters: Frances Youngquist and her husband, Vincent and Hazel Dunkin and her husband, Howard; brothers-in-law: Sam Carlson and Donald Carlson; and sisters-in-law: Virginia Johnson and Evelyn Carlson. Lorraine is survived by: son, Bruce Carlson and his wife, Janet of West Covina, California; daughter, Susan Johnson and her husband, Kenny of Holdrege; grandchildren: Brenda Sanders and her husband, Tom of Cedar Park, Texas, Stacy Nollette and her husband, John of Whitman, Nebraska, and Chris Johnson and Tye Johnson both of Holdrege; great-grandchildren: Chelsea, Ashlee and Brock Nollette; sisters-in-law: Delores "Babe" Carlson and Donna Carlson both of Holdrege; brother-in-law, Ralph Carlson and his wife, Margaret of Lincoln, Nebraska and a host of relatives and friends. Burial was in the Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege, NE. Published in Kearney Hub on May 18, 2012
