Description	:	Lorreine Nelson Ingraham, 96, answered her Heavenly Father’s call to leave her home at St. John’s Lutheran Home and join him in the place he had prepared for her. She passed away quietly and peacefully Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014. She was born Aug. 21, 1918, to Julius and Cassie French Nelson in Woodworth, N.D. She was shy, quiet and very kind. She was a very hard worker, hauling water for laundry from the town well. She married Claud Ingraham June 10, 1937. They enjoyed life together for 71 years. Claud passed away in 2008. Read More	Lorreine Nelson Ingraham, 96, answered her Heavenly Father’s call to leave her home at St. John’s Lutheran Home and join him in the place he had prepared for her. She passed away quietly and peacefully Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014. She was born Aug. 21, 1918, to Julius and Cassie French Nelson in Woodworth, N.D. She was shy, quiet and very kind. She was a very hard worker, hauling water for laundry from the town well. She married Claud Ingraham June 10, 1937. They enjoyed life together for 71 years. Claud passed away in 2008. She enjoyed having company and the coffee pot was always on and everyone enjoyed homemade goodies, some being Norwegian treats, or a meal. They moved to California in 1943, and she worked in a tile factory there until moving back to Jamestown, N.D., in 1944. They moved to Laurel in 1951 and built their own home, of which she was very proud. She worked as a waitress in Jamestown and retail at Penney’s in Jamestown and Billings and retired from Nikkolas in 1979. She enjoyed helping in the Snack Bar at Starlite Roller Rink. Being of strong faith, religion being an important part of her life, she rode horseback eight miles so she could be confirmed. She taught Sunday school for many years and was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed going to St. John’s with the church ladies to mend clothes for the residences. She also made lefse to share with St John’s residences. They were members of Sons of Norway Leikarring dance group for many years. The group was invited to dance at Disney World's 25th anniversary in 1997. They were among the first to move into the new Crossings assisted living in Laurel in March 2008. She said we picked a good place for them. She was always content with the care. She is survived by her daughter, Cenra (Bob) Weatherford; son, Denel (Judy) Ingraham; grandchildren, Kimberly (Paul) Jeroma, Keith (Kirsten) Weatherford, Ken (Meghen) Weatherford, Randy (Julie) Ingraham, Kerri (Rusty) McGuire; great-grandchildren, Kristen (Ronnie) Newton, Sophie, Matthew Jeroma, Keenan, Kelsey, Kailey, Kendra, Kinley Weatherford, Jorden and Jensen Weatherford, Nathan, Jesse, Chad Ingraham and great-great-granddaughter, Isebelle Newton; her sister, Evelyn Hanson; sister-in-law, Audrey Nelson and many nieces, nephews and great friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claud; infant son, Delton; brother, Arnold Nelson and sister, Agnes Bohl. A very special thank you and our appreciation to all the staff at the Crossings, Richardson Cottage and St. John’s nursing home for the kind and loving care, which went above and beyond. Memorials can be made to Christikon, St. John’s Lutheran Home, The Crossings or charity of your choice. She will be greatly missed and always loved. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel, funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with interment at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Billings
