Description	:	Lorrence was a tuberculosis patient at Lutheran Tuberculosis Sanatorium (now Lutheran Hospital) in Wheat Ridge, Colorado in the early to mid 1950s. By the beginning of the 1954 school year he was well enough to attend school outside the hospital at Emmaus Lutheran School in Denver. He is loyal to his home state and to his father's farm, but he finds the [Colorado] climate just ideal. That makes Lorrence a full fledged Coloradoan. Incidentally he holds the unique distinction of being the boy who attends school the farthest from home, since his folks live in Seward, Nebraska. An able scholar and electrician and mechanic is the tall, quiet lad that has graced the ninth grade class for a term. His lunch pail always contains lunch and a few pieces of electrical apparatus for the edification of his fellow students, particularly Philip and Clifford whom he feels he must impress. He is so electronically minded that his retorts [sound] something like this, "Watt, Ohm," etc. His favorite subjects are Algebra, English, and the last half of the science course because it deals with electricity. He is a capable student, but the studies had better be slanted to his interests or he develops a short circuit. Where Lorrence will pursue his secondary education will be determined by his doctor, but we are sure that he will be a success at whatever task he applies himself.
